Jim was a great guy. He always gave you a smile. I will rember him most for loving his son and my sister so much. I rember him playing on the floor with Jayden for hours. He really loved that little guy. We will all miss him being a part of our family, but thankfully a part of him will live on in Jayden and James. Rest in peace, Jim. Know that a part of our hearts is up in heaven with you. We love you!

James Cooksey

James "Jim" Cooksey, 46, Leander, Texas, died Friday, Nov. 30, 2007, at Austin, Texas.

He was born Dec. 3, 1960, in Quinter to Robert and Edna (Kraft) Cooksey.

He was a 1979 graduate of Wheatland High School.

He was a wastewater plant manager for city of Lago Vista, Texas.

Survivors include two sons, James Cooksey and Jayden Cooksey, both of

Leander, Texas; his mother, Park; four brothers, Ken Cooksey, Quinter,

Randy Cooksey, Oakley, John Cooksey, Grandview, Texas, and Richard Cooksey,

Wichita; and four sisters, Karen Scott, Park, Cheri Remington and Leann Evans,

both of Gove, and Mary Gormley, Grinnell.

He was preceded in death by his father.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Park;

inurnment in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Park.

Visitation will be from 12:30 p.m. until time of service Saturday at the church.

Memorials are suggested to Quinter Volunteer Ambulance or Masses in care of

Schmitt Funeral Home, 901 Main, Quinter, KS 67752.

every fourth of july and new years, his favorite holidays, he would buy as many fire works as he could afford and strive to make as much noise as humanly and try his damnedest to piss everyone off.

He was a great man and a wonderful father. We had some really great times. Jayden will always think of his daddy as a hero!! Jim always had a smile on his face and he was very fun, and funny. He always tried to make you laugh no matter what was going on. I have never met anyone else like him. He will be greatly missed!! We will always remember him and the love in his heart!!!
